About Us

FORWAC is a nonprofit, non-governmental organisation, registered in Kenya in 1997 to address the plight of impoverished rural communities. Especially that of women and children, who stand out as the most vulnerable.

FORWAC is active in Ulamba sub-location, North East Gem location in Siaya County, which is situated forty kilometres west of Kisumu, on the shores of Lake Victoria.

Here, in Ulamba, HIV / AIDS has had a very strong and devastating impact:

  • Siaya County has one of the highest prevalence rates in Kenya.[1][2][3]
  • Many people live on less than $1 per day.[4]
  • Many school age children have lost one or both parents to the scourge.

How May I Help?

FORWAC’s main source of funding is through our sister organisation, FORWAC Germany, friends, relatives and well wishers who find it worthwhile to assist in putting a smile on the faces of these vulnerable children.

Some students, whom FORWAC sponsored through secondary school, are currently pursuing further studies, in Kenya's national universities, and in various middle colleges.

You can help a child stay in, or join, a class in secondary school, primary school or even nursery school.
